2022 Internship Program

At the start of July 2022, we were joined by Rebekah Spratt from Exeter University for a period of 5-weeks. Rebekah reached out to us earlier in the year and although Axiom Planning did not have a formal internship program, we seized the opportunity to help out an aspiring young professional and mobilised a bespoke program. Collaborating with the University, we had everything arranged in a matter of weeks and looked forward to welcoming Rebekah into the team. Here are some thoughts from Rebekah following the conclusion of her time with us at Axiom Planning.

“Hello, my name is Rebekah. I’m a BSc Geography student at the University of Exeter and, for the last five weeks, I have been undertaking an internship with Axiom Planning.

I have been keen for some time to get my foot in the door of the planning industry and find out more about what it takes to be a truly exceptional planner. The team have been kind enough to guide me through the fundamentals of the planning process; taking me along to some fantastic site visits and allowing me to work on my own project assisting clients’ understanding of planning terminology. Now in my final week, I’m able to reflect with gratitude on the time I’ve spent learning from a remarkable, award-winning business and its fantastic people. 

I highly recommend the experience to anybody considering undertaking an internship. Sometimes it really is as simple as a few emails and a zoom call to secure valuable exposure to your prospective field, setting you apart from other candidates for future employment. I’d like to thank the director, Daniel, and the Axiom team for granting me this exciting and enjoyable opportunity.”
